A FIRST AND A LAST

Today Gabe started first day of school. 

Kindergarten here I come!!

And I have to admit......I cried all the way home.

But he sang all the way to town, and threw in a "woo hooooo Gabe go to squewlllllll!!" Quite the happy camper!

And then there's my Cole man.

Today is the first day of his LAST YEAR of school.

I can't believe he is a senior!

This child has taught me so much about life and the simple joys of living to the fullest, the life God gave us. He is truly my hero.

Ok. The tears are starting again, so I'm gonna stop here.

What a blessing to be these boys mom.

They are the best!!

GOTCHA GABE - ONE YEAR AGO

MY CHAINS ARE GONE I'VE BEEN SET FREE

MY GOD MY SAVIOR, HAS RANSOMED ME

AND LIKE A FLOOD HIS MERCY RAINS

UNENDING LOVE, AMAZING GRACE.

We meet again after 4 long months. He was a sad and frightened little boy at first, but it didn't take long for him to see, God's love had come to set him free.

EVERY TIME I HEAR THE ABOVE SONG, I NEARLY DROWN IN TEARS!

HUMBLE, THANKFUL TEARS, FOR THE RANSOM THAT WAS PAID FOR A SINNER LIKE ME.

AND HUMBLE, THANKFUL TEARS,

 FOR THE LITTLE ONE WHO HAS ALSO BEEN FREED.

I ONCE WAS LOST BUT NOW I'M FOUND

WAS BLIND BUT NOW I SEE.

I will never forget the world in which Gabe lived for the first 5 yrs. of his life.

I will never understand how a whole society can see these kids as useless and unworthy of love.

It has been an amazing year since we brought this little guy home. He has already taught us so much. What an honor and blessing it is to be his momma.

When God summons your name, whether it be through a whisper or a shout.....

You ARE Worthy little man...Happy Birthday

Six years ago today, in a country that doesn't yet know it, but a beautiful little life began. But there was no celebrating, no hugs, no high fives, no presents, no rejoicing, no nothing. And for 5 long years, this little one had no idea of the love that God intended for him to have. He had no idea of the promises that God made for him and those like him and that he too would know love, beyond measure, one day. And thank goodness he had no idea that the world he lived in saw him as useless, defective, and unworthy of love.

But Gabriel Dimitri Decker.....

You my little man, ARE worthy of love.

So worthy that the Lord even knows the number of hairs on your head!

So worthy that Jesus said, "I will not leave you as an orphan, I will come to you", and by golly, He did!

Jesus also says that His kingdom belong to YOU and other kiddos just like you!

Ohhhhh little one, you are so VERY WORTHY of love.

And I am so very thankful and blessed to have you as my son.
